HAIR EXTENSIONS

Extension Care Do’s and Don’ts

Client Do’s

  • DO wait 72 hours (3 days) before wetting/washing your hair. The texture of the hair will change once it has been shampooed.

  • DO use sulfate and paraben free products.

  • DO use a soft, boar bristle brush; starting at the ends and working your way up, always brushing in a downward motion. Brush before shampooing to keep hair from becoming matted or tangled.

  • DO use recommended products by your stylist to keep extensions feeling soft and looking sleek and healthy. Use only on mid-length to ends.

  • DO wear your hair in a loose pony-tail or braid when swimming, exercising and sleeping.

  • DO have a licensed professional remove and reapply your extensions.

Client Don’ts

  • DON’T use any products containing alcohol, oil, or ethanol. Alcohol based products are drying to the hair and can compromise the strength of the adhesive bond. Don’t use an aerosol hairspray anywhere near tape tabs as they have alcohol in them.

  • DON’T wash hair with products containing sulfates or parabens. You should never wash your hair upside down. When washing, you should only apply a small amount of shampoo on the top of your head and gently massage. Don’t scrub! Most professional salon shampoos are self-cleansing, so just distribute it evenly. Rinse thoroughly.

  • DON’T brush hair harshly.

  • DON’T go to bed with your hair wet or wrap your head in a towel for long periods of time.

  • DON’T chemically process your hair. This voids the limited warranty and may compromise the hair.

  • DON’T remove your extensions yourself.

  • DON’T apply heat directly on tape tabs or bonds. This will void the warranty.

  • DON’T blow dry your hair on the highest settings. Excessive or too much heat will dry out the hair making it appear dull, frizzy, or overly dry.

  • DON’T apply higher than 250 degree Fahrenheit/121 degree Celsius when applying heat to Fantasy and Paster Hair-Blend colors.

Note: Blondes that turn pink, orange, or darken are not the result of a manufacturing defect. This occurs most often from contact with sun-tanning sprays/lotions, make-up, argan oils, or is a result of mineral deposit from hard water and voids the warranty.

Avoid minerals from hard water, i.e. river, ocean or spa water, etc. color from colored products, or oils can deposit on the hair.

Refer to your stylist for recommended products to correct discoloration. The hair extensions we offer are real hair with a natural body wave and each pack will vary slightly in condition/texture.
